One Case of LeIomyoma of the Rectum

Abstract
|
|
|
One case of leiomyoma from the rectum of a 47 year old Korean woman is presented. The perforated, elastic, soft and necrotic tumor mass on the rectum, was measured 18. 0 X 15. 0 X 6. 0 ㎝ diametere. The patho-histological finding was revealed benign leiomyoma, whose origin is unknown.
The incidence of leiomyoma in the upper part of gastro-intestinal tract is more frequent than in that of lower part.
As to the choice of treatment of leiomyoma of the rectum, combind A-P resection is recommendable in view of the noted reccurency, malignant changes and hematogenous metastasis.
